US LAWNS - Contract - commenced February, 2020; See the Quarterly Update by vendor:
July 23, 2020 Dear Cobblestone Homeowners: We hope this letter finds you all well. As we move into the dog days of summer we wanted to take a moment to give you all some highlights about what activities are coming up in the neighborhood in the near future. US Lawns Late Summer/Early Fall Activities: • As the temperatures continue to be in the 90’s in the Indianland area, we are seeing the Fescue struggle to remain green at many homes and some areas have went into dormancy. We may reduce the frequency at which we are mowing over the coming weeks in order to alleviate any additional strees on the turf areas. We have also seen a flush of summer weeds such as crabgrass and nutsedge pop up in the neighborhood. We do expect to see some of this as we approach late July as the pre-emergent that was applied begins to break down. We will be treating those turf areas in Early to mid-August in preparation for Fall Aeration and Seeding, which will take place in September/October. • We have just completed pruning on the townhome section of the community and a have the single family homes scheduled to be pruned from Wednesday July 29-Friday July 31. After our first round of pruning we learned many things about how to coordinate this effort and we are expecting that this will be a much smoother process. Resident Tips: • Supplemental irrigation on your turf during these high temperature weather patterns is helpful, but won’t completely green up fescue while the temperatures remain in the 90’s. If you do irrigate your lawn, please ensure that you do it in the early morning just before sunrise to reduce the risk of fungus. Fescue turf prefers 1”-1 ¼” of water per week. It is best not to water every day but to water deeply a couple of times per week. We appreciate the opportunity to care for your property and hope that you all enjoy the remainder of this oh so strange and difficult year. Sincerely, Brandon Shively
